Avril Lavigne to Begin U.S. Mall Tour Thursday

Avril Lavigne has firmed up details of her upcoming "secret tour" of U.S. shopping malls. The trek to 21 cities begins March 4 in Minneapolis.
The exact location of each six-song acoustic performance will be revealed 48 hours in advance at http://www.aol.com/CityGuide. To receive E-mail and/or phone messages with details, fans can sign up for their nearest location at http://www.avrillavigne.net.
In the midst of the run, Lavigne will perform April 3 on the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards in Los Angeles and April 4 at Canada's Juno Awards.
At the mall stops, she will be joined by Evan Taubenfeld, the guitarist on her band and co-songwriter of several tracks on her sophomore Arista album, "Under My Skin." Due May 25, the album boasts songs co-written with former Evanescence guitarist Ben Moody and Chantal Kreviazuk.
A video for first single "Don't Tell Me" (co-written with Taubenfeld) will be shot later this month in Los Angeles.
A slate of television appearances will surround the album's release, beginning with a May 21 performance on NBC's "Today" as part of the show's annual outdoor "Summer Concert Series." Also on tap are visits to CBS' "Late Night With David Letterman" (May 24) and the syndicated daytime shows "Live With Regis & Kelly" (May 25) and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" (May 26).
Lavigne is also planning a June European festival swing that will see her performing at Germany's Rock Im Park (June 4) and Rock Am Ring (June 6), Portugal's Super Block Super Rock (June 10) and Italy's Heineken Jammin (June 20) events.
