Russian billionaire and Chelsea football club owner Roman Abramovich laid out the red carpet for newlyweds Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan .

The couple was Abramovich's guest of honour in his private box for two recent Chelsea games in London.

A source revealed that he laid it out thick for the couple, while they were in the country.

"Roman gave Aishwarya and her husband Abhishek Bachchan full use of his own box while he was out of the country, and really pulled out the stops," the Daily Mail quoted him, as saying.

"He put on lots of Indian food, followed by a cheese course, and organised for them to receive a sterling silver pen and signed football shirt," the source added.

Ash and Abhishek tied the knot on April 20 this year in a low-key ceremony, with only a few close friends and members of the family invited.
